Tripple D
2008 was another year when all the stars aligned, so the
- U of D night ride
- Beat the train and
- Tour de Troit
all fell on the same weekend.
So why not head out at 7 PM Friday night and start an epic day in Detroit. Throw in a couple of beers at the beginning of the ride, pedal till you're sober again at 5 in the morning and back on the bike at 6:30 guarantees you an interesting state of delirium by the time you get back home after 147 miles and just over 12 hours on the bike (yes, this clearly wasn't a race).
Typical Friday evening 7:30 PM at 8 Mile

Meeting up with the U of D crowd at 10 PM

Canada at night

Things you do at 3 in the morning

This picture was actually taken inside my brain

Mattmtb's fine work
Out at 6:30 to find the Beat the trainers

Found

Riding around Detroit's landmarks

New day has almost arrived

Perfect day for the Tour de Troit

Looks to me like more riders than ever, how many???

Well, count for yourself

Good friends

Just can't get enough of the D today

The end

Last remark - I wasn't by myself, always good to know people that got nothing else to do on a nice late summer night

Hey, I never saw you at TdT. Are you sure you were there? :)
Great ride and great photos as usual.
There were about 1,100 riders in this year's Tour de Troit, which is roughly 500 more than last year.
oooo ooooooo oooooooo!!!! i made your blog!!
i was on the red tandem that almost exploded at the beginning of the ride! maybe you remember me?!?!
Likewise Im glad you didnt have anything to do on a late summer evening either. Good times for sure!
Although after that ride my taint sure is glad all i did yesterday is ride around on a cruiser for a while.
Dude, you are In-F-N-sane for riding on Woodward and 8 mile near dark... except to get to the hot blonde with a pink bra.
